Chris Paul’s Hamstring Injury to Blame for the Rockets’ Conference Loss?

5.30.2018  |  CBN

Rockets fans may remember the very moment when nine-time All-Star Chris Paul experienced a strain to his right hamstring during the very final minute of Game 5 against the Warriors (déjà vu, anyone)?

A huge letdown, indeed – and it certainly begs the question: would the Rockets still be on the court had Paul not been injured? And, is this the same hamstring that cost the Los Angeles Clippers back in December?...

"He couldn't explode off it, couldn't push off of it," Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said of Paul’s injury. (ESPN.com). "Just not ready. I knew it was a long shot from when it happened. Just nature's got to take care of it. It's going to be a little bit."

A source also had told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN that Paul’s injury was a Grade 2, (the type of injury that takes weeks rather than days to recover from) – and that the Rockets did everything they could; mentioning that it was “just not humanly possible”.

So… what’s next for the Houston Rockets? Is the answer to get King James on board to form the ultimate super team along with CP3 and James Harden? We’ll just have to wait and see.

"[Chris Paul] practically won us the last two games. But great opportunity for other guys and we have plenty to choose from and we'll be ready”, says D’Antoni. (NBA.com)

Get well soon, Chris. We have all the optimism for next year.
