Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams comments on talk to delay NCAA votes - “It’s unfair”

The JYD and George King are promoting an initiative that would give back power to disadvantaged college athletes.

The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is scheduled to consider landmark legislation that would enable college athletes to monetize their name, image and likeness - however it was recently announced that authorities have been discussing a delay of the vote until more clarity on federal government action is realized

Former professional NBA player Jerome Williams, known by fans as the Junk Yard Dog, has issued a statement with his thoughts on the matter.

Student-athletes have been taken advantage of by universities and organizations through the prohibition of requesting certain academic majors,” says Williams.

This is simply unfair. As students holding such scholarships, they should be able to choose whatever major they please.”

Disappointed by the situation, Williams is taking matters into his own hands in order to help combat this issue student-athletes are facing.

Companies like mine, Alumni Pros Global Sports are helping student-athletes leverage their awareness of their brand. I encourage college athletes to not be afraid to look into how they can take back control,” says Williams.

Alumni Pros Global Sports is an association that delivers monetization, optimization, and fair distribution of profits related to intellectual property rights for professional and non-professional athletes.

As the CFO of Alumni Pros, we have insight into the full economic value that the student-athletes are delivering to both the individual educational institutions and the NCAA as well,” says CFO of Alumni Pros Global Sports, George King.

“To allow more equitable access to this money by the students is essential.”

There’s no denying that college athletes deserve better - and while we may not be where we want to be just yet, we have hope for a better tomorrow.

I’m very eager to see what legislation is put forth by the U.S. government to benefit athletes - especially minorities that have been disadvantaged for so long,” says Williams.
